“Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread everywhere.”
Song of Songs 4:16a
I laugh as I recount some of my early days as a wife, homemaker and gardener. I’ve often told my kids, and still swear by it to this day, that I have learned more from my mistakes than anything else. I vividly recall the laughter as I gazed enviously out of my front window at the sign in my neighbor’s yard, boasting “Yard of the Month.” I was on the phone with my mother, assuring her that one day that sign would be in my yard. She gave brief pause before declaring “LaTricia, I never knew you would ever be so domesticated!”
I know you just find it a total shock that my favorite rose of all time is the “Eden Climber,” which I actually fell quite in love with long before this ministry ever even came to mind. I suppose I find a simple elegance in the touch of dirt around my nail beds and a palm spilling with petals from a fresh-cut rose.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11
