“And to …everything that has the breath of life in it – I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.”
Genesis 1:30
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
-Hippocrates, 431 B.C.
If there was any one thing I could say initiated my passion (okay, maybe “obsession”) for gardening as the window boxes full of herbs I kept in my sun room so many winters ago.
Not only did I enjoy seeing these boxes full of fragrant, lush greens but I also felt like a total rockstar in my kitchen as I incorporated those fresh, homegrown herbs into these exquisite culinary creations.
“He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;”
– Psalm 104:14 KJV
“Herbs are the friend of the physician and the pride of cooks.”
– Charlemagne
