Basic Raw Flax Crackers

Looking for an easy way to add in more incredible omega 3’s with fiber and a wealth of other nutrients?  This could be your new backup plan.

Makes 1 large tray

Ingredients

2 cups Golden or Brown Flax Seeds

2½ cups Water

2 tbsp Bragg’s Liquid Aminos

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.  Allow to set for 1 hour or until flax has absorbed much of the liquid, forming a sort of gel.

Pour onto a lined 14×14 dehydrator tray and spread evenly with a large offset spatula.  It may look like it’s going to be too much for the one tray at first but it will fit, trust me.  If using a round dehydrator, you will likely have to divide mixture between two rings lined with fruit leather trays.

Dry at 110° for 6 hours.  Flip onto mesh tray.  For neater shapes, you may score them now using your spatula.  Do not use a knife as you may destroy your liners.

Continue to dry for an additional 2-3 hours or until completely dry crispy.

Store in an airtight container for up to 30 days.  If crackers start to get stale, re-dry until crispy again.
